1: You are your own boss ?
Nothing is better than being your own boss. Nobody to give you deadlines, tell you what to do or make you work extra on an evening where you already had plans. Of course, you still need to hustle and work long days, but you will also have a flexible schedule!
2: Hustle will pay off ??
When you work for yourself you will probably experience that the harder (and smarter) you work the more successful you will get, which is something that is pretty neat to have control over.
3: Living out your dream and passion? :
One thing is to dream about it, another is to actually do it. It is a pretty big step to start a farm, but it will all be worth it when you finally wake up in the morning and feel passion and excitement to get up and start your day.
4: Always learning???
Constantly learning and challenging yourself is a kicker for many people. Mastering farming and learning new tricks/methods to become the best is something to be very proud about and makes your day to day exciting.
5: Large markets ?
Let’s face it, everybody loves chickens. If not chickens, then at least their eggs! Right now the population and demand for white meat are growing across East Africa. Words of advice - Make sure to find your market before your product is ready for sale.
6: Fruits of your labor?
If you make a product of high quality, you will also be able to sell more and take a higher price. Once you become a master and treat your customers well, you can expect a nice steady income.
7: Spending your days outside
There is nothing better than having your feet in the green grass and listening to the sounds of your own farm in the background. The sun is shining on you and you find yourself in complete peace. How awesome would that be?!
8: Growing whatever you like next to your chickens ?
Grow what you like, switch it up, change it around. Vegetables, other livestock, fruits, nuts, you name it. Be careful that your chickens don’t eat all those vegetables!
9: Zero commuting ? ?
Most farmers live on their farm. No commute to work, no sitting in traffic and no wasted money on bus rides. Just walk out of your front door and you are there.
10: Joining a farming community like eLengo! ?️
You can join a community that has the same interest and passions as you! You can usually rely on this community to help with advice to get the job done. You will definitely find some great connections and meet new friends.
