Honey production follows a cycle depending on available forage. Harvesting comes however after good plants blossoms (flowering) during this stage the bees are aggressive and stings at slightest provocation. The bees stay in for long time. Rule of thumb , always harvest honey before rains starts as the bees will consume it all during wet season.

Depending on the forage availability, which can be natural or artificial, production of honey follows pattern of plants blossoms. In absence of natural forage one can maintain artificial flow by planting forages for bees. Remember the honey taste depends on forage type during honey flow period.

Point to note is that bees normaly make honey as their food reserve during wet season. This measns that the hives should be ripe not deep into the rainy season. Otherwise any new hive colonised during rainy season don't expect any honey untill after 3months
