Is there a specific maize variety you can recommend for a farmer based in Makueni- Kibwezi?

This depends with the purpose of the production for example fodder production or seed production. Is it rain fed or irrigated but the following varieties are adapted to the environment: Duma 43, Kdv4, Panna

There are several varieties that can be grown in makueni regions, i would not be specific however before buying any check on.
-Disease tolerance ability of the variety
-Drought tolerance ability
-early maturity (bearing in mind rainfall durations/lengths)
- soils type
NB all these and many more qualities are enlisted on seeds package, check before you decide on which to buy.Generally Duma, DH, DK, Katumani composites Panna seeds, Simba etc are some of the choices you may look at. Thanks
