Some call this "buttock syndrome"????...we'll, this is not that, the name of this condition is called "pasty butt" or "pasted vent"..This is a condition that occurs in early stages of chicks development when droppings stick to the down surrounding their vents.Poops build up to form blockage of the vent and this can be fetal if not removed...
This is mostly caused by feeding chicks on feeds that are less digestible in their bodies or thirsting them most of the time..
If this is noticed in a young flock,liquid parrafin should be added to their drinking water to aid in digestion.
