Challenges especially to do with poultry diseases follow certain trend across the year. During rainy season for example respiratory diseases are very prevellent and coccidiosis.during dry season, newcastle sweeps like nothing else. The best aproach is to clearly undestand occurence and distribution of diseases in your area with full management plan( this is freely available at the nearest veterinary department in your area). Armed with that, it is important then have your health mangement plan guided by this in addition to other management practices. Bottom line is biosecurity and environment. Keep your birds healthy throughout by creating an environment that doesn't favor disease causing microorganism. Biosecurity requires discipline on the part of the farmer.
