Assuming that 7-25% of the birds time will be spent foraging, the recommended stocking density is 1500 birds for every 2.47acres and ensure meaningful and regular access to the outdoors. It is also understood that the outdoor range must be 1.5 times the floor area of the inside coop. This specifications whoever varies depending on the nature of the forage for free range and the level of feed supplementation.
