Its not a must as long as you are able to provide adequate water be it rain fed or irrigated however there are some advantages of using drip irrigation i.e
  • Low cost of watering due to economical water use though the initial cost is high
  • Needs less labour during watering.
  • Efficient in water distribution
  • Fertigation can easily be done
