I find that feeds are very expensive in my area. How do I go about developing my own feeds? Does anybody have ingredients and a recipe?

If you give me the type of poultry and age of chicks you have I can help you with a formula to make feeds.

You can use locally made feeds I. E use remains of omena" ochong'a" which contains protein as well as calcium, maize brand, green vegetables, grind the eggshells and soya for protein..

@tekas2 my birds are now laying and 7 months old. DO you have ideas to make cheap feed?

I am also interested in making feed for my chicks as well.

Another simple way of making short-term feeds is to trap some termites and collect for your chicken.

I'll suggest that you use appropriate ratios to come up with locally made feeds I. E use remains of omena" 2-3% ochong'a" which contains protein as well as calcium, maize dry grains-About 30-50%, green vegetables, grind the eggshells at times for calcium & for protein. As well as other adjunct such as millet,or sorghum
