Hi Cynthia, sorry for having taken so long before getting to your question however here below are initial steps for consideration when one intends to start a farming business e.g vegetables
Assuming you've identified a particular vegetable(s) to grow, as you're doing land clearing and preparation you can collect soil samples for testing to help you establish fertility level, status on pests and diseases (results will give information on which nutrients elements are needed and quantity) e.t.c
Acquire planting materials from a reliable and certified supplier enough to plant the intended area
Establish seedlings nursery at least 21 days - 1 month before planned/expected planting date
Seedlings nursery should be in secure area, accessible,fertile soil and near source of water.
Field for planting should well prepared, free of weeds and near water source if irrigation is intended
