Before investing in garlic farming, ensure you secure a ready market. Do a soil test to ensure that the soil is suitable for growing the garlic.
Garlic farming is a lucrative return and a readily available local market. It does well in a well-tilled, drained fertile soil. The soil PH should range between 5.5 to 6.8. Source for certified garlic cloves.
It should be planted in an area where onions had not been previously planted.

While planting ensures you do not overwater as this causes the cloves to rot.

Weeds should be controlled by cultivation, hoeing, mulching or applying herbicides as garlic do not compete fairly.
