There three methods of pricing that probably the seed company could have considered i.e
  • Cost of production- Summing cost and adding a reasonable profit margin
  • Demand pricing -price set by the demand and supply in the market
  • Competition pricing -price determined the competitors price
For your case before buying the seed you should consider
  • The market demand
  • Seeds certification
  • Maturity period
  • Free and resistance to pest and diseases
  • High germination percentage
  • Possession of good shape, size, colour, etc., according to specifications of variety
  • Purity of the materials
