I'm a new small scale farmer keeping less than fifty kienyeji chicken. There's a kind of infection especially in the eye if my chicks. Sometimes it starts being swollen near the peak and finally the eye, it ends up being blind in the affected eye. What could this be. One started and now four going blind. They're about Two months old now.

Your birds have contracted fowl pox. Remember it's a viral disease and vaccination is the sure way of keeping it in control in addition to all in all out. Management practice. Get help from nearby vet shop for iodine for swabbing after squeezing out white substance causing the eye to close. Separate the healthy once from the affected.
