Chickens Laying of eggs dropped

Nadia VS

New member
We have 2 groups of layers, a group of 44 and a group of 165 approximately. The laying has been well till the beginning of January and then it went down in the 2 groups, most likely because it is hot (We are at the coast). Since mid february it was still going down in the big group, but now the last week we have only around 100 to 110 eggs of the big group, while from the others we have around 37 eggs. We have no idea what is wrong with the big group. Also the size of the eggs is smaller. They are younger then the other group, but it is like they just start to lay. Does somebody has any idea what the problem can be ? Thanks

Depending on how long the big group has been in production (laying) there is a period during which birds stop laying and shade feathers. This process can be natural or arterially induced by stress. Kindly check on any stresser if it is artificial it might reduce. Otherwise once molting sets in it has to go full process. Check this list too for help https://www.mkulima.co/threads/why-have-my-layers-slowed-production.1713/
