Morning Jane, if you're really sure that all preventive measures were under taken appropriately then the other possible reason could as a result of excess moisture resulting from the current on going rains. Remedy measures are:-
Prune leaves surrounding the fruits, or removal of non fruit bearing vines to open up the crop for maximum air circulation.
Put some hard materials beneath the formed fruits like pieces of wood to elevate the fruits from wet soil contact.
