How to do I make soil better for bulb onion farming?
@Francis bulb onions perform better in soils with the following characteristics
  • sandy loam soils -loose, deep and fertile
  • rich in organic matter
  • PH levels of 5-6.8
  • retains moisture through out growing period
  • sufficient levels of phosphorus and potassium

Therefore by improving or maintaining your soil to/a near a bove stated qualities then it will give better result for onions production.
These factors can be achieved by:-
-Adding well decomposed compost or Farm yard manure to improve moisture retaintion a ability, aeration (looseness) and fertility.
-Apply Bio-fertilizer or chemical fertilizer with high P and K
-Test the soil to determine PH and a mend appropriately if need be
-Keep the farm free from weeds
- incase of rainfall insufficiency supplement by irrigation.
