Hi,
Morning doc, please advice me on how should i prevent transplant shock when transplanting vegetables like kales or spinach
Good Afternoon, there are several ways of minimizing shock after transplanting.
  1. Give the seedlings enough water 1-2 hours before uplifting.
  2. Uplift seedlings with small amount of soil attached to the roots
  3. Do transplanting late in evening or early in the morning if weather conditions is likely to be cool through out the day
  4. If possible you can provide some shade using twigs or branches of other vegetation
  5. Apply enough water after planting, this can be done daily at cool hours (evening) for 3--4 consecutive days.
  6. Apply Rossasol K- ( foliar fertiliser containing high amounts of potassium) to help reduce rate of evapotranspiration)
