Is it a must for someone to be buying chicks all the time....how about if you keep layers that sits on the eggs (number is your choice) to hatch instead of buying chicks all through

Getting parent stock that can go broody and seat on eggs for 21 days is the biggest problem. Better buy incubator and hatch or rear special local poultry to do the incubation but remember the number of birds you need to incubate 100 eggs on the lower side will be 10. Factor in other cost involved in keeping this birds and get the economics behind buying chicks.
