I plan to plant tomatoes this planting season which starts in match. Please, I request any expert to take me through basics on how to prepare the bed and which iningredients I should use to get high germination.

@ Ronald I complement you so much for having considered to look for right information before everything else.

On nursery bed preparation please I would like you to check and consider the following factors.

Site selection
- Water must be available( clean and safe water ) adequately for the whole period.
- fertile, well drained, flat to gentle slopes
-Away from natural shades eg trees
-Secure and accessible.

NB. This is applicable when doing traditional beds for seedlings propagation.

When doing trays seedlings production
some of the conditions may not apply however water source and natural shading is still a consideration.

Other inputs requirements
Certified seeds * chech on germination percentage.
-get rooting hormone, rootex or anatone1
- get SSP or DAP fertilizer to be applied during sowing
ensure watering is done regularly and adequately
- check on early fungal diseases eg damping off- use Ridomil or score
