The breed has been developed for traits such as early age at first laying under imprived managment condition of 4.7 months compared to pure local that starts laying at 6months. It also lays more eggs per year than local birds. However it has poor mothering ability and the eggs not as tasty as the local eggs. Research on this breed was first done in Ethiopia and recently kenchick has it on trial coz it is said to be superior than Isa brown on egg production( subject to confirmation) . Otherwise compared to local in production it is superior but inferior when it comes to disease resistance. Thanks
