Marek's Disease is a highly contagious viral neoplastic disease in chickens. The mortality rate in an infected flock runs very high and even affected birds that survive carry it the rest of their lives. Generally, outward symptoms occur at 2-6 months of age. It is recommended that you have young chicks vaccinated at one day of age in order to prevent this disease.
