Layers are the only breeds that are purely ment for egg production as their genetic selection is inclined to producing eggs than meat. Thus sure bet is issa brown pure layer. Cost of Production would vary depending on the production system you have adopted, your location interms of how proximate you are to source of feed/ feed raw materials and how skilled you are in management.
