Chicks require great care because they don't have enough plumage(feathers) to keep them warm. It is thus recommended that you provide protection from extrimities of weather by having them raised in a brooder. In addition you should have them vaccinated against viral diseases https://www.mkulima.co/attachments/vaccination-program-indigenous-chicken-pdf.18/. And ensuring that you avoid frequent entry into the unit by less important personel to minimize introduction of pathogens into the unit.
