Chickens crop suggestion?

I am in the process of rearing chicken as a starter in farming. Looking forward to growing other crops favourable to my climate in Nyando. Any specifics for which plants would do well there

Hello Rosie thanks for your question in Nyando, out of experience is hot generally at the same most parts experience floods once or twice a year so these two natural factors must be considered when choosing which crop to grow and when to grow them however, if you are able to access water from irrigation scheme that's in Nyando or your own source and with huge market for horticultural products (fruits and vegetables) in the lake side (Kisumu and environs) based on the following factors
-Land size
- Market availability
-Capital requirements
-Labour availability
  • Time of the year
  • technical ability
Having checked on these then you can grow

Watermelon
Open field tomatoes
Leaf vegetables ( traditional vegetables), cabbages spinach and spices.
- orchards( Oranges, mangoes, pawpaw and passion fruits are also doing well in the region and market opening is big.

Thanks
