coughing and swollen eyes and laying of eggs has stopped for layers.. how can i treat this?
Hi Kelvins your birds could be suffering from mycoplasmosis. A disease that cause birds to show signs of coughing and swelling around the eye different from Newcastle that is accompanied by greenish diarrhea and high mortality. It is caused by micoplasma and predisposing factors are debilitating conditions such as excess ammonia in the coop due to poor ventilation and or dust. Also change in peacking order can be stressful to the birds hance the microorganism get virulent on such periods. Can use antibiotics to reduce the effect to managable level.. Tylodoxy or tylan can be of help.
