Hello Jane growing wheat just like other crops requires the following:-
Soil fertility must be guaranteed better yield to establish this the farm land must have its soil tested to check:-
-SOIL PH
-AVAILABILITY OF MACRO AND MICRO NUTRIENTS IN ADEQUATE QUANTITIES AND QUALITY
-where there's need amendments are done appropriately
-Land to be prepared early enough and sowing of seeds done at the onset of rainfall
-Planting of certified seeds
-Field kept free of weeds
-Wheat is prone to diseases like RUSTS and blights so chemicals for control should be factored in as necessary inputs
- You will need fertilizers of right formulations and quantity based on soil test results but must majorly constituted PHOSPHOROUS AND NITROGEN for root development and tillering respectively.
