Poultry Poultry infection

Grassroots

Good morning. My birds are developing swollen eyes with a white substance that covers the whole eye forming inside that makes it unable to see food eat and therefore unable to eat. This applies to chicks and growers. The layers are forming dark hard spots on the eyes and around the head. Please advise on the following.
  1. The name of the disease
  2. The treatment that I should administer.
  3. The cause of the disease since the birds are enclosed.
It's urgent please

Very unfortunate, you have wet fowl pox infection, being viral it has no treatment but supportive care. Use interlox eye drop. Or clean with iodine . The mature birds will recover faster but remain carriers. Going forward ensure that no new flock is introduced before dissinfecting the unit. Timely vaccination is the only way out.

What causes rough feathers on mature hens and how do I control or treat
As poultry matures especially layers, it reaches atime when they have to shade feathers a process otherwise refered to as molting. This is a natural process that you can't prevent. Otherwise have your birds on good plane of nutrition so that they take shorter molting period.
