Improved kienyeji lost the broodiness which is a maternal instinct when the breed was being developed at KALRO naivasha. It continues to lay eggs may at times get broody but will never sit on eggs. Hence you can keep for eggs or dual purpose.

Alright. How many KGS does it way when mature? How do I avoid having chicken with too much fat when slaughtered?

Helo, Am looking into starting egg production business. With about 2000 layers. A house that is scalable to accommodate at least 10000 layers each. I need professional advise. I already have ready land. Am considering becoming a medium scaled egg producer in the next 5years producing about 20000 eggs a day. Kindly advise.

If you can manage the hydroponic way it would be better coz there is advantage of nutrients release as the seeds germinate hence more calories per unit feed as compared to feeding it complete or unbroken for that matter. The organic aspect of it might be very tricky unless everything water inclusive that will be used in the hydroponics units is tested for their organic status.
