Poultry Best breed of chicken for home consumption

Apart from kenbro being the best layers, have you considered their taste? Personally, I find these breeds so flat in taste as compared with the indeginous chicken that my mother used to slaughter for us. What about the improved KARI chicken, what is your opinion of them despite being small in size?

For home consumption, you can rear original kienyeji, they are more tasty though takes time to mature. However nutritive value interms of protein levels is similar to other birds per portion tested. Production cost very low for local birds and highly adapted and hardy.

Eimeria necatrix pathogen eating their intestinal lining(coccidiosis). Have them on Esb3 and multivitamin. Spread lime(choka) underneath the bedings always. Minimize dampness in the unit especially watering points.
