Back to your question, pumpkins are heavy feeder crop evident from foliage formation and sizes. Having that in mind then we need to give adequate and balanced nutrients at different growing stages to certisfy different growing needs.
-It's advisable to give a fertilizer of high nitrogen content during the early stage of growth
-At flowering supply a fertilizer of higher phosphorus content to enhance blossoming and flower setting
-When fruits starts to set give your crops a fertilizer higher in potassium for a resultant quality fruits with good color and taste.
These three elements should applied in the ratio of 1:2:1 as compound or straight fertilizer s, additionally pumpkins respond well to organic/Farm yard manure so if you can access it the better
