Am intending to buy good number of indigenous chicken from the market to build my stock, but I fear risk of buying infected birds. What are the measures to take after buying chicken from the market to ensure less risk of infection?

It is the greatest risk you are ever going to make. Before you regret, don't buy from open common market into your farm. Would advice you link up with know farmers some you can find right here, at market section. Even from this reputable farms you have to keep this birds separately (quarantine) for 1 week observing them for any signs of I'll health.

Thanks nedward, I take your advice, I rather take time to build my own stock. Please connect me with the reputable farms that sell one day improved kienyeji. They are many and everyone is claiming their breeds are F1 generation and vaccinated up to date. Just name few for the start, Am in Bomet county.

Kindly for improved kienyeji, contact Kalro naivasha in kenya, the origin of improved kienyeji is at kalro naivasha. However there is a nearby farm that does the multiplier breeding for improved kienyeji. From Kalro, you will get contacts to their true out-breeder farms.
