I have some hens that are developing swell at head on one side of the ear which becomes closed by the swell and it is waterly, what can i do?

This is a respiratory infection called infectious coryza. Isolate the sick birds and offer treatment . Clean and disinfect the chicken coup to reduce the infection rate in the flock. observe cleanliness and hygiene within the chicken coup by ensuring the litter is well managed, also avoid mixing birds of different ages.

Since it is a bacterial infection, the use of antibiotics is effective in treatment. The use of sulphonamide trimethoprim is effective. Other antibiotics that can be used include Erythromycin and oxytetracycline.
