Cocks that aren't breeding should be kept separately so that they gain right body condition. Breeding cocks in season Should be kept with the parent laying hens if you are aiming at producing fertilized eggs. Remember for every 5 hens you require 1 cock beyond that some eggs will be unfertilized.
